Following a pick-up from your hotel, drive north to the park in the Titiwangsa Mountains. Taman Negara covers an area of approximately 4,343 square kilometers (over a million acres). Located in the states of Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan, it is the most extensively protected area of lush green rain forest in Malaysia. Commercial logging is prohibited providing protection to the indigenous flora and fauna. It is also home to Gunung Tahan, the highest peak (2,187 metes) in Peninsular Malaysia.
